Hey Guys, looking to see what flash tuners you are buying and from where with custom tunes. I can only find one SCT tuner online. Shocked that there aren't more on the market. Figured Roush or Steeda would have had one. These are names I trust when modifying a Ford.

I plan on picking this guy up.... heard it's worth its weight in (name your favorite precious metal) and should be 1st on your list...

Let me know how you like it...match it to an intercooler and Borla atak exahuast

I'm actually not going to change the exhaust or intercooler. Ordered a roush cai. Was looking more for a Diablo that a company has a custom tune in it like with my gt500 steeda diablo. Not looking to mount the sucker like this one.

I use SCT on my Lightning but not no cover all tune from SCT. I got it dyno tuned and store the custom tune on the SCT x4. I also use it to watch O2 sensor activity and many other things. Not sure if your warranty is still good if you use it on the Raptor... does anyone have the answer for that one?

I've just discovered Whipple Charger has Performance Upgrades and worth checking out. They use Factory Ford Part number and recalibrate your pcm. You do have to take yours out and send it to them. They say they can do a 3 day turn around. You will not get a max hp tune but they've put up some good numbers without distorting trans shift and everyday driving. People posting good things about them. Taking mine out this weekend and shipping it to them.

This is just my opinion. I respect opinions of those who prefer the flash drive. Please research and make your own decision.

My son said Shelby has a kit now. They will tune the stock PCM like Whipple is doing.

I'd bet money once Ford Performance comes out with custom tune it will be from Shelby or Whipple. I know from research Whipple has a OEM number attached to their Programming.
Speaking of Shelby....
I visited the Shelby shop specifically to asses the value to cost. It is my personal opinion that the new Shelby Raptor is the worst of all the pony's in the Shelby barn. There was very little thought put into it except for the hood, which I very much like. For me everything else aesthetics wise is just added weight and left over parts from the gen 1 Shelby Raptor. At a price tag of $116K, you are totally paying for the name, which to me has and is gradually losing its value. I give a very modest $20K for all the parts and labor. You Raptor owners know what you paid for your Raptor, my math comes to $75K + $20K = $95K - $116K = $21K for the brand. Now lets talk reality... I only care about performance! Just $2K for the Whipple setup versus the $46K mark up of the Shelby Raptor... and your Raptor will smoke the Shelby Raptor all day every day!!! "FACT!" Now if it is appealing to you to have your truck in the Shelby registry and being a limited production of a vehicle that is already a limited production for $46K more then kudos to you... As far as I am concerned the gen 2 Shelby Raptor is like a hurried after thought to capitalize on the generated craze of an already amazing and well thought out truck, so well done that Shelby failed to add meaningful value that any Raptor owner can easily do on their own for a quarter or less of the cost. In other words, the Shelby Raptor is not worthy of the Shelby name! Its kind of insulting! I would have expected Shelby to throw on higher producing turbos and crank the engine back up to its origins in the GT at 650 horses... I do however want that hood! Sell me the hood Shelby!!!!!

I agree. Shelby seems to be just putting something together with their name on it to make money.

The hood is nice. Wait awhile Shelby will sale the hoods once they hit the production numbers. Was apart of the 67 contuation Shelby Musstang builts 10 years ago. I was frabercating trans mount, bumper bracket and other metal parts. They took it online with body kit and ALL the Elonor Shelby parts.

Exactly, the bad thing about it is the poor ole Shelby enthusiasts think they are getting something special. Hopefully they test the Raptor before they buy a Shelby Raptor. Besides, I have no clue as to why someone would want a chase rack on their truck or want to replace the already amazing side steps... I find the stock side steps a protective barrier for the paint from all the rocks and debris kicked up while in BEAST(baja) mode off road. Its like they are taking an already awesome truck, installing simplistic mods and then taking all the credit for creating what Ford did. Shelby is rapidly losing my respect. They need to stay with mustangs and stop trying to milk both worlds to stay afloat. That is not CS's intent!

Yep! They did a Shelby truck 10 years ago back when they did the Eleanor Shelbys. Wasn't anything special. Never went into production.

Sent my PCM to Whipple yesterday. Should have it back in time for Weekend Fun!!!!

Have you heard of the Raptor Assault Racing School at Ford Racing School in Utah?

I was invited to one free day at the Utah course. I wouldn't travel all the way there for that though. Flight isn't free

Whipple Charger Recalibrated PCM installed today. It feels like Performance Mode in regular Mode. It’s hard to feel the power increase with the 10 speed transimition but can see the speed-o climbing much faster and find myself braking harder than I used to. I unhooked my Paddle Commander when I installed the PCM. Hooked it back up but haven’t drove truck since then. Have a feeling I’ll have to put it in lower response mode to keep from blowing the tires out now. Will post tomorrow after a few test runs with Peddle Commander hooked up with Whipple Charger tune.

Still have the SPD spacers and S-Type Borla to install. Going to dyno after that to see true numbers.

That’s why I’m going power programmer. The diabo will be able to shut that stupid thing off permanently. If I’m trying to cool off on a hot summer day I don’t need my air shutting off at every damn light. If I’m sitting in traffic I don’t want my wheels locked if I want turn then towards a lane that started moving. Unless you go run a 1/4 mile and post your time to change my mind haha

Well! Was not to bad until I installed SPD spacer and Borla S Type exhaust. Turbos spool up to 21 psi and I enjoy hearing the sound. So I went from 16 with PCM upgrade to 13.5 after exhaust.

Once I stop putting my foot into it I’ll report back on gas mileage. Might be awhile, to much fun right now.
