Looking over the factory setup the intake box is quite well designed but all the noise cancelling stuff after that is junk. Has anyone replace the mid intake pipe with some aftermarket pipes?

There is a company that sells all that aluminum intake pieces....now if I could only remember the name.

The K&N uses the bottom half. It replaces the filter and leaves the top open.

I made a homemade kit for my 2010 FX4 when I had it. Droned so bad I took it off. I was running an SCT Xcal 3 canned tune in though, may have had something to do with it.

Here are some components (aluminum tubing, clamps, silicon rubber hoses...etc...)

This is what I have done. I removed the stock tube (with all those clunky chambers), added a tube......I also used a K&N filter inside the stock air box. I have 'opened' up the openings in the stock box to allow better air flow.....

cost...under $100
dont mean to bring this thread back up. but where did you get the tube? was is bent correctly?

thanks
