When I bought the truck a few weeks back. The salesman was trying to explain the sync and all the fuctions. Then starts to explain about a USB and SD card that is in the dash with the owners manual. He looked and looked and never found it. Then turns around and says oh yeah these dont have them. That kindly made me think he didnt know much about this.

Those are for the MyFordTouch vehicles, the F-150 will get that unit in 2013. On those, the included SD card holds the map data for the Nav system. You can play music off an SD card if you want, but the Nav won't work while you do. The system also has 2 accessible USB ports for mass-storage devices or for a USB modem to get the built-in WiFi base station to actually do something. There are also RCA-in video jacks for the screen in the dash.

My wife's Edge has this system and none of this functionality is working because the system took a huge dump and no amount of fuse-pulling or battery disconnecting has revived it. So it is back to the dealer with it, most likely will need a new APIM module to revive it.

must be a 2013 option as stated.... no 2010, 11, or 12 have this option.

sd card? haven't sen one on the 2012 SONY Nav I have...

I already disconnected the USB in the dash and ran one wire to the center console and one wire to the glove box...

one of my favorite mods...

anyone got a photo of where the sd card is hidden. If they ever get my new one i would like to make a copy!
if i have maps i lose my favorites, if i have favorites i have no maps.
No SD card on 2009-2012 models, the map data is stored on a hard disc drive inside the head unit. The maps are updated via DVD-ROM.
