I have spent tons of time on this one , it apears that the front shocks are to narrow at the bushing mount thus sliding back and forth this will go away once shimed and compressed with the bolt It may be the same with the rear as well.

In Fords TSB they stated "some raptors with a build date prior to 1/7/11... FYI.
The notorious “clunk” will be addressed today per Ford’s TSB (greasing the slip joint). The mechanic says this is a temporary fix and most likely the “clunk” will return (as we all have read). However, he mentioned that with more mileage the clunk should lesson and or go away. This is based on his experience. Mine started at around 600 miles, worsened up to 1,000 miles and has improved (lessoned) on acceleration but worsened on stopping at 1,200 miles. The Mechanic says Ford should be issuing a permanent fix for this issue soon…. Now, does anyone have the suspension “rattle” when driving over small bumps (asphalt patches, etc)? I have read that people have located to the front right of the truck, mine seems to be at all four wheel locations. Sounds like something with the suspension is lose.
Ford just came out with a fix for this as well. More Grease! :smileup:By the way, my build date is January 11 (2011 Screw)... so the clunk exists on Raptors after the 1/7/11 date... In Fords TSB they stated "some raptors with a build date prior to 1/7/11... FYI.

lol.... nothing like slappen on Good Ole Farm Grease...... do you have a name for this Miracle Sav?...... :att:My brother has had his truck in for this twice now and both time they put grease in the slip joint and both times it came back within a couple of hundred miles. This time I pulled the driveshaft and took a look. I found that the grease they are using is a joke. Just as well put water in there, it was all but gone already. I put some grease that we use on our farm equipment that stays put better than any grease I have ever seen. I would be willing to bet it will fix the problem. The splines looked great, I don't think there is any other problems here but bad grease. I will keep everyone posted.
Have you had this done ?I have spent tons of time on this one , it apears that the front shocks are to narrow at the bushing mount thus sliding back and forth this will go away once shimed and compressed with the bolt It may be the same with the rear as well.
The slip yoke has never been a problem on mine i have over 12,000 miles on my truck.Have you had this done ?
We use Mantek grease which has moly in it, but the best thing about it is that it is very tacky and will stay put. I may be a farmer but not stupid, I built a 10 second diesel truck that has 1200hp out of a 359 cu.in. inline 6. We are very much in to good quality oils and grease because we also run a 5000 acre farming operation.lol.... nothing like slappen on Good Ole Farm Grease...... do you have a name for this Miracle Sav?...... :att:
Not that.....you said something about the bushing mounts on the shocks.......The slip yoke has never been a problem on mine i have over 12,000 miles on my truck.
Did you mean " did they grease the bushings" I hope not !Not that.....you said something about the bushing mounts on the shocks.......
Me too, I've had a clunking truck before and it just sucks! Good luck guys, if they fix the problem for 2012 I may reconsider. I was really looking forward to it too. I also sent these links to my dealer so maybe it will help a little. I'm glad these forums exist and I found out about this now.Canceled my order due to this clunk issue, I’m very mechanically inclined but there is know way I’m rolling the dice on that kind of money.
I told the dealer about all the post on this issue so hopefully this helps you guys down the line. Good luck on the clunk
Good to hear...However; I talked with a fellow shooter at an IDPA match west of Houston this evening who happens to drive a 2010 F-150 XLT Screw 4x4. Guess what? Same clunk! It seems this issue affects more than the Raptor. He's also having a weird hesitation/rough shift issue if he applies throttle after coasting below 40mph.from Ford:
3007 - 2011 RAPTOR DRIVELINE CLUNK/SLIP/BUMP/CHIRP
SOME 2011 F-150 RAPTOR VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT EXCESSIVE CLUNK OR A CHIRP/SLIP/BUMP CONDITION FROM THE DRIVESHAFT ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP OR WHEN BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. GREASING THE SLIP YOKE OR DRIVESHAFT REPLACEMENT WILL RESULT IN REPEAT REPAIR ATTEMPTS. ENGINEERING IS INVESTIGATING THROUGH THE QUICKER SERVICE FIX (QSF) PROCESS, AND IS DEVELOPING A SERVICE REPAIR PROCEDURE. CONTINUE TO MONITOR OASIS FOR UPDATES.
I'm Glade to see someone reads my post ! As an engineer i work hard to come up with the right solution for the job , How much did you pay for the grease? Good Luck with the clunk. It's to bad Ford can't open ther eyes and help out . I wounder what kind people Ford Hires for there engineering staff .Had the clunk in my 2010 6.2, on slip yoke cured it for the duration of ownership (approximately 7k miles). Now have much worse clunk (from the time I drove it off the lot) on 2011 SCREW which returned 250 miles after greasing the slip yoke. I've now had it greased with AEROSHELL 33MS GREASE and it has never felt smoother. Will update the forum as I rack up miles on how it holds up. Have a long drive (approximately 900 miles) next week so it should be a good test.
