I think most people get used to the tune, and don't realize how drastic the difference is until they put the stock tune back on! I did the same thing, and couldn't believe how crappy the stock tune was... I had forgotten!
Emissions Inspection
So I went to get my raptor inspected today...has a full header back SW exhaust, Airaid intake, and 5 star tune
Didn't pass, showed certain things "not working"
I called Anthony at SW, great service, chatted a bit and he suggested I call Mike at 5 Star
Chatted with Mike who said you have to revert to the stock tune for emissions testing, then change back again to the "tune"...granted the truck had 8000 miles on it when it arrived and in the 87 performance tune mode
So I went back to stock (emissions testing tomorrow), and OMG what a difference between stock and the tune...stock is like sleeping while tune is like being caffeinated...I called back 5 star to complement them at their work...they told me to try the 93 performance tune which gives even more HP...I will at the next tank of gas.
I am happy to say I got great customer service from SW and 5 Star...highly rec them...i told the 5 Star guys it idled rough a bit at start-up w/ the tune...they said let them know and they will fix it.
Guys, if you need an exhaust/tune use SW and 5 Star...the truck is awesome with this stuff!

Yes, please share the results. The testing around here involves a state technician running the vehicle on a dyno. Guy at work had to take the longtubes off his Mach 1 to pass.Hope you pass emissions, please post the result.
well this truck came from indiana the way it was and passed...i did what mike said...restored to stock, passed fine, immediately restored the 87 perf tune...happy again!
lesson is that if u have a tune, restore back to stock for emissions testing

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but does it cost additional money to go back and forth between tune and no tune? Or is it just the initial cost?

I have a 2012 not able to do a drive cycle for the OBD2 test. I just purchased the truck it has a aftermarket exhaust not sure if it has a tune. how can you tell if he has a tune and how do I go back to factory settings
