First time getting stuck. Got through the same pit 4 or 5 times before bottoming out. Got stuck on Friday around 9:00pm. Ended up getting out around 9:30am from two jeeps and an 8500 lb winch.
check out the vid(s) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APCg3SKY20U

Later that day I got the local fire department to hose my truck down, it worked out pretty good.

(she does look better dirty)

I gotta' give you a rep point for that. I just couldn't do that to my Raptor just yet. (still smells new) I've been in a lot of mud, but not to that degree. I truly think that mudders would've helped you in that situation, but there's so many pro's and con's to using them. Nice video!
Reddog...

I also 'Repp'd' ya... great vid. Except for the fact there is a stuck Raptor in it <G>. I agree with the guys that say it looks like you have some experience in the mud. So what happened? Your You comment says you had been thru it 4-5 times already, why did you get stuck this time? Could you have done anything different?

Red, I had it in 4 low with the advance trac (pressed once), offroad mode, and rear locked. It would get in and out with little problems. (mud tires would've been ideal for this) I got stuck because we had a little break. Shut off the truck, (had all the modes off) had some burgers on the charcoal bbq and we thought we'd try it one more time.

Well... I turned everything back on except for the advanced trac (which i had on in my previous runs in the mud) The revs were good until i hit the deep stuff again. Bogged my truck down and couldnt keep it above 2500rpm. I forgot to hit the damn button! Before this, i had just the rear locked with offroad mode and advanced trac on and it made it through the left of the mud pit with little problem.

You have justified my faith in you... and reaffirmed my faith in Ford superiority!

Also, proved once again tha "Sh*t happens" <G> Sounds like to me you couldn't keep your RPMs up to clean your tires 'cause a nanny had your ass <G>. Did you try wallering the tires back and forth? I have been wondering if the side treads will give you any bite in mud. The only thing now is, when I get my Truck (I have been waiting on a Black 6.2 since January) I am going to have to really study the manual. I can't follow half of what you said. <G>.

Can anyone put the diffenent "Modes" in to a simple understanding explanation. Like... Mud: Rear Locker Locked, Advance Track... and so on?

Anyway, thanks for being up-front and not afraid to tell everybody that you got stuck... and provide videos! Those that give you a hard time, in my experience do so because the haven't been stuck... which translates to say they haven't been in the mud, because if you aren't afraid of the mud, you are GONNA get stuck. If you don't.... well, you are just not trying hard enough! LOL

hey guys, the truck was done once i had no momentum. Tried turning the wheels, even got my dirtbike ramps and tried to wedge them under the tires that were spinning. (it was dark, getting cold, bare feet in cold mud) I was desperate!!! Nothing worked, my undercarriage was bottomed out. Got the raptor pulled out, and I could stand on top of where my skid plates were, from it being so compressed. Any other spot, you were up in your knees in mud. This place is just south of the 401 behind where the old Port Hope travel center was.

That looks like it would have been fun all except staying overnight and then holy cow that is going to be a job to clean up! Don't get me wrong I would love to find a place locally that I could play also! And I agree I really need to read my book on all the does and do not's while playing! Crap took me forever to remember to turn off traction control in the Mustang at the local drag strip I might never get this right!

You might have had a little more luck in 4(HI). you want momentum and high tire speed to "hopefully" clean your tires out as they spin. 4(LOW) is only necessary for towing up a steep grade or slow rock crawling.

4 low felt a hell of a lot better then 4 high once u hit the mud. I experimented with them all. I thought 4 low worked awesome compared to 4 high. Not to mention I also made it across just with the rear locked the second time trying to get across. It's all about the advanced traction button when ur in the slippery/greasy stuff. ( learned the hard way )

Ryan, i wasnt up by west beaver, steeles / 14th last thurs, also spotted a blue raptor down at the bluffs on the weekend???? towing a seadoo

cheers

There are two types of off roaders...Those who have been stuck and those who are going to get stuck. It dosen't matter who you are or what you drive.Any body that has had any fun at all off roading has been ding dong deep in mudd hooking a strap up to there truck...Looks like you had a great hole to hit...:smileup::smileup: I'v seen them all stuck over the years..O there are those guys that go and do a few donuts in the field and come back and tell you have the were wheeling the crap out of there truck. Then they tell you how there truck is so bad it never gets stuck...:shy:. Come hang with me and my crew is what I say. I'll get your truck so far in you will need a helicopter to get it out...lolol
Great job keep up the dirty work...
The only resone I don't have video of my truck stuck is it's only 8 day's old and we have not had a chance to get all the trucks together yet and my wench isn't on yet...
Again great job....

That's so funny Wizzo.. I can hear my old Dad in his 3/4 ton Ford 4x4 saying, as he was tearing thru a mudhole deep and long enough to scare the hell out of anybody with sense... "Son... you ain't 4 wheeling until you start asking yourself where the nearest Skyhook helo is at" <G>.
