Good afternoon. Two weeks ago I bought a 2014 Ford F150 Raptor and love it. Did I need it No. I am sure you guys have already talked about this, but does anyone have any pointers on how to get better gas mileage? is it worth getting a k&N Air Intake? Also is it worth getting a super chip? I finally got it to reach 12.5 mpg and it has dropped. Any pointers would be very appreciated.

The mileage will get better once its broken in, but nothing to brag about. Keep the tire pressures up and rotate those tires every oil change. Keep the air filter clean!

So would you recommend the K&N Air Intake? When you say it will get better once its broken in what mpg do you think it will top off at. Right now I have made it up to 12.5 and thats the highest its been. Thanks

I noticed about a 2 mpg increase in mine. Is 12.5 your average? Try resetting the mpg. I'm more talking about on the hwy mpg anyway. I average 13.5 city and hwy. My best on the hwy is about 17.5 at 75mph

I just have about 460 miles on my truck so I have not reset the mpg since i am just on the second tank of gas. The 12.5 is just what I have reached so far on the highway. In the city it drops to around 12 mpg so far. I would love to get what yours is getting. How many miles on yours did it take before you started to see the mpg raise? Have you altered it at all with anything?

I have SW headers and true dual exhaust, nothing else to the motor. Have other mods, perch, tires/rims, tonneau cover, etc. I think after 5000 k it started to get better. Most owners will get 17 on the Hwy, it all depends how heavy your right foot is :)

Wow your gas mileage is great. I get 10.7 highway and 10.5 city. My foot is not heavy at all, it has over 3000 miles and a very first oil changed done last week. Wonder if my truck is just a thirsty beast :Wow1:

Something is wrong if you are only getting 10.7 mpg hwy!! Are you driving at 100 mph with a boat anchor in tow, lol.

    MURCI,
Didn't you put bigger wheels & tiers on your truck? Maybe that 10.5 city isn't accurate :4-dontknow: like Stang said something isn't write.

Yes Im running Fuel wheel 20x10 and 35/12.5/20 tire, but before when I was still running the factory wheel/tire I notice the same gas mileage. Im using 87 octane gas as per owner's manual recommend:4-dontknow:. Well I just reset the MPG and will see how that goes.
I also reset the the screen to track mode and seeing the rear wheel torque lit up when the truck moving is much better then watching the gas mileage goes down:smiley_thumbs_up:

I get between 10 & 11 miles around town and 13 to 14 hwy. And yes I have a lead foot. Go fast around town or go fast to the desert. Love the power.

New to the Forum. Owned a Hummer H-3 for 11 years. Bought it new, and put 123 thousand miles on it. Was getting to the point where it was starting to nickle and dime me with maintenance costs. Most of the repairs I did myself, but getting to the point where major repairs were going to be necessary. Front Crank seal, front axle seals... BCM module. I just don't have the time for that kind of repair work. Anyway, A friend who owns a Ford dealership, got in a 2010 Raptor 6.2 with 24,000 miles on it, and all the bells and whistles. Truck was a lease vehicle. Mint condition. Got a great deal on it. MPG was listed as 14 City and 18 Highway. Have had it for three days now, and most of my driving, thus far, is city. The average MPG is 11.6, and I'm not really pushing the truck. Is that pretty much average? Tmorrow I'll be doing all highway driving. Hopefully, it will do better. Love the truck!!!!
