Hello, I am looking to get a little more go from my first gen raptor (it is currently my daily). I’ve already got a [email protected] intake and a roush exhaust. Don’t get me wrong I am very happy with the way it performs, but I think it needs a little more. I have been doing lots of research into headers and I think if I did get them I would go with stainless works. My main question is this, “do I need to tune my truck for headers” I have seen other guys run their truck with headers for years without a tune and have no complaints. Any advise would be helpful

ps I may be getting 2nd car soon which would mean that the raptor wouldn’t be driven as much so any form of harm or wear from headers would take much longer to occur

running header on vehicles without “tunes” depends on a lot of different factors. some cars dont care if u swap stock exh systems for headers and some will set off check engine lights and run bad. u plan on running long tubes with a y pipe, x pipes, cats or no cats? i swapped long tubes, x pipe and no cats. i used an O2 sensor extension plug to keep check engine light off. the truck did have a noticeable gain in low rpm respone but up top was only a better sound. wasnt until i got a tune that it was noticeable throughout the rev range. what system u planning on using?
