isn't new car smell simply the smell of toxic new plastic and processed materials? Does it make sense that we really only like this smell because it is associated with the smell of the day we picked up a new truck and it has a positive associated memory? ...science rules! :)

On the day you pick up your truck, spill a BBQ pork sandwich on the floor and from then on, you will seek BBQ smell in your truck! (available at any grocery store!)

For those that liked the smell of WD 40, check out G96 Gun Treatment. Great smell and this stuff works wonders on metal. Learned about it from a Marine buddy while I was in the Gulf whose unit would have it shipped over from the states by the gross.

Yep G96 been using it for years on guns. The company is 5 mins away from me in Paterson NJ. Good to lube wheel lugs and any metal moving parts.

They make a great product and we used the G96 instead of the Mil Spec solvents issued by the Navy/Marine Corps because it was so much better. Removes rust and other deposits real well also. Multiple uses. I work for a bank and ordered a case of the G96 as we use it on all of our vaults and safe deposit boxes. Makes them look like brand new!

So maybe the real new smell of a car is bad but fresh leather is always a great smell. I have been using on other vehicles a great product line and so far after about two years I am still very impressed. It is a leather cleaner from Zaino and it cleans and restores but most impressively it leaves the smell of brand new leather. Worth looking into. In fact every product I have used to date has been great.

Tiny can of stuff called ozium kills bad smells inside a car fairly well, it has helped keep my truck smelling new, or at least clean. I try to wipe down the leather and vinyl as soon as i can after a spill too. Btw, i dont think ozium is any healthier to smell than resins and glues.
