Okay, after a long, long 8 weeks of waiting, surfing the web and watching every Raptor video, reading every post on this form, ordering a bunch of accessories, etc... I got the call from the dealer that my Loaded Black 6.2L beast has arrived... But now I've got cold feet... Im planning on writing a check for the full amount, but parting with that much cash, (regardless of the costco deal) has me feeling tons of anxiety...

I need some moral support... Is this truck worth every penny? Anyone have regrets?

tomorrow is the big day... I hope I get some sleep tonight....

cold feet

Dude what are you thinking? I have read several of your posts on this forum, you know as well as I do that this is the most badass truck out there. I also plan on writing a check for my raptor, and that is a huge check, but it is worth it. You will have one hell of a truck. Short of giving up your first son this truck is worth it. Buy it and enjoy driving it every day. If you dont buy it will you let me know, I would love to get yours at Costco price.

Over the years I have owned 7 or 8 F series ford trucks, most have been good rigs. My all time favorite was my 93 Lighting, that thing was my idea of what truck should be, power was good, handled great and stopped like nothing else. I almost cried when it was stolen and wrecked. This 6.2 Raptor is a lighting on steroids with 4 wheel drive thrown in. Write the check.-----------Larry

I am here to give you moral support....
I ordered my 6.2 back in December...recieved delivery in FL at the end of May and saw the truck for the first time at the end of JUNE!!! I have yet to drive her and she is being shipped out to LA.. (long story) and is due to arrive in a week.

I can hardly wait...and all I can say for you is CONGRATS...:smileup:

I don't think you could be happier with the choice you have made. Sure it is hard to part with the cash in hand, but think of all the enjoyment the black beauty will bring you

YOU are a lucky man...many others are less fortunate and have to drive around in 89 Chevy's...have you seen the inside of a 89 Chevy ??!!:4-dontknow:

I am going through the " same " issue.....a bit of anxiety.....Mine will be landing at the dealers lot this week, and supposed to be picking it up next week, I'm almost certain that as soon as I walk into the building " It'll be love at first sight " and no turning back. I haven't even seen a real live Raptor yet, and it would absolutely kill me to turn it down, and see someone else driving it around, after waiting this long. Thanks you guys for your input....I think I'm going to be proud to say" The white one's mine" .

Quit thinking like a sissy!! Once you get 100 miles on that bad boy, you won't be thinking about how much you spent on it, you'll be wanting to drive it and sleep in it forever! Best vehicle for the money, you're gonna love it! I can see you smiling behind the wheel already :)

Buy It!

First and foremost, you will not regret buying that truck one bit! I know I have only the 5.4 and everyone raves about the 6.2, but out of my eleven Ford Trucks, this is by far the best one I have owned. Looks and performance included.

Having that said, looking at it logically, you may want to put a deposit down on the truck and finance a portion. Utilize the funds that you would have poured into a check for the whole balance in another way that can return some cash to you. I have seen rates for 48 months extremely low right now and if you have the means to pay for the whole nut at once, you can budget a monthly payment and still be ahead of the game.

The best financial advice I ever received was never put a boat load of money into a depriciating asset. Unfortunately, as much as we all love our Raptor's they are vehicles, which unless you are buying an antique classic such as a vintage Mustang or Corvette, they depreciate quickly.

I purchased my Raptor about two months ago. I put a third down and financed the balance. Suprisingly, I bought stock in Ford Motor Company with some extra funds that I contemplated on putting down on the truck and made a few bucks that have offset any finance charges I would have incurred by taking out the loan for the truck.

Only my two cents, but buy the truck, but don't pay the whole nut in cash. Financial advisors have said new vehicles, including the Raptor, depreciate between 5-7 K immediately once the new registration plates are installed.

Good Luck with the new beast and Congrats!!!!!!!!!

I pretty much did what you're doing, Mudder and I have no 'buyer's remorse' at all, NONE. Alot of us bought them 'sight unseen', no video, no truck on the dealer's lot to look at or drive and I've yet to hear of anyone being disappointed with this truck. You'll be pleased, friend and I hope you do lose sleep, we did. You're gonna' like this thing..

As much as I'd love to threaten to revoke your man-card... I think it's none of my business what another guy does with a big stack of cash like that.

That said, my opinion would be... that you need to question what reasons there are for your "cold-feet" and consider whether or not those reasons are significantly valid.

Don't put yourself in financial trouble just to be "Manly". And don't buy something you don't want just to prove you've got brass.

If it won't break the bank, and it is what you want... Then maybe you're just having what I would think is normal anxiety for parting with large sums of money. That is like... in Lord of the Rings when Bilbo hands away "The Ring"

MY PRECIOUS!!!

But hopefully in your case the Raptor will be more "precious" than numbers in a bank account.

This is the best advice you can get. Always use their money when buying a car or truck never pay cash. That`s the #1 rule in car buying 101.

You will not regret buying this truck, in my view there are no other options.

Half your bonus eh, sound like you earn enough not to have concerns with a $50K truck. I think you'll enjoy your purchase once the initial anxiety and doubt we all have over large purchases passes. Good luck and now you can start buying those mods.
