My 12 Race Red Screw has been ordered as of 5/14/12. It was an interesting process but it's done.
It all started when I got a new job and got a decent pay rate too. Went to the dealership in my town and asked to speak with someone about possibly ordering a truck. I just wanted to go over numbers and see what they could do. I was introduced to a very soft spoken gentleman and taken to a sales desk. I told him I wanted a Raptor and that I wanted to order one. What does he do next? He simply pulls up the Ford website that I have been on for the past week and starts going through the order process on there right in front of me. This is something that I have done a million times. I didn't say and just let it go. Then after all that is done, the manager comes over and we TRY to talk numbers. This guy was so stubborn. He wouldn't move a cent away from what the website said. I said have a nice day.
That afternoon I get on to Truecar.com and go through the process. Half an hour later a man calls from the same dealership. He says they can honor the price and that he will talk to his manager the next day and give me a call back the next day.
Two days later, no phone calls. I took the time and went to the dealership myself and asked to speak with the guy who called me. We sat down and went through what I wanted. He goes to talk to the manager and comes back after ten minutes. He said that they were busy and that he would call me back later that day.
Yeah, you guessed it right. No phone calls. I don't know about you guys but I'm a big Yelp user. I did a pretty big review on them and it couldn't be more negative if I tried haha. The same day, the manager comments on my review and wants me to call them to clear things up. The day after that I get a phone call from the guy who I was dealing with and he said that he had been trying to contact me for the past three days. My phone was never off and I didn't have any missed calls. Hmmmmmmm.....
So I drive down the freeway a little bit to the next town and I am in and out in twenty minutes with the number I want.
I couldn't be more excited right now. I will keep you guys/gals posted on the order process.
