Fellow worker was talking about his Chrysler van and wanting to check his Transmission oil but found no dip stick. He found out its a sealed unit with no outside service allowed.
So I brough my truck into a truck bay at work and washed the salt off it and though I would check the transmission fluid. MMMM No Dip stick. I go to the Owner's manual and fine out that the 6 speed tranny is a Factory sealed unit with only maintenance perform by a certifed Ford Tech. MMMMMMM

Yea Chrysler has done that now for a few years :shakehead: I remember in the 70s there was talk of locking the hood so that only dealers could service the engine so no tampering could be done with emissions systems ( another brilliant government idea)

There is a dip stick on the trans. It's on the right side on the trans.

99.99% of people don't check their fluid levels. So no need for a conventional type dip stick, also it's another place for dirt to enter the trans.

I was just going to say, just checked mine the other day. It's not your conventional long tube dipstick, but a dipstick nevertheless.
