I have been meaning to post this for awhile, this is for the average joe on his back in the drive way.
The biggest issue is removing the stock muffler, with a sawsall or hacksaw cut the two 2.5 pipes right behind the muffler, once cut remove this rear section up and over the rear axle and pulling out towards the original exit of the tips, you will have to do some twisting just watch the brake lines. The original muffler has a 12 inch long piece of pipe welded to the front of it, at the end of this piece there is a small round tap that notches into the pipe that it connects to, you will have to twist the muffler to unnotch it from it`s mating pipe, this is not easy and once you have the notch lined up to where the muffler assembly should slide out from it`s mating pipe it took me about an hour of twisting and pulling to finally get them to pull apart.
Installing the Magnaflow was quite easy but here are a few tips, REMOVE all hangers and reinstall with each section of pipe that you install, spray the hangers with WD40 to make installation easier. Install the rear hanger onto the rear section before installing on the truck, this is VERY important. The clamps need to be at 65ft-lbs or they will leak but this is about the limit of the clamps (i busted two trying to get to 65ft-lbs). Leave the bubble wrap on the muffler and tips until your install is done.
The total install took me two hours, due to removing the original muffler, if your lucky and yours comes off easier it should only take about an hour. Also use the Magnaflow box to lay on, it`s not as cold as the concrete driveway.
