That sucks man.. you need to find a good shop that does warranty work, problem solved..

Im just flicking Cam crap in all reality. I do prefer the V8 sound, but like I said, they are both sweet trucks and most anyone... but Cam, would say the same.

Id change the exhaust but thats just me.

Yes Colbymh definitely I need exhaust sound help! I want to see and hear the exhaust on the GT40 ecoboost set up. Maybe consider Borla set-up. Not sure yet. My first real mods are going to be JMS Boost max with a pedal max. I would love V8 sound or at least similar.

Colby, you got me... I do not care to continue this thread with you as I am extremely prejudice of my education and do not wish for it to be insulted. You live in your world and I live in mine. In my world, an engine tune cost me $7,000 for a new motor at my Ford dealership all while it was still under warranty! So, seems to me the ignorant one would be you as you believe that shit never happens since it has not yet happened to you! Here, they don't have to prove anything they say you voided your warranty as a result of a tune; you pay! Go in peace Colby, I am calling for a truce. You win, I am not worthy!

And screw all of you I like the sound of my fart can even if I can occasionally resemble the sound naturally myself... LOL!

You can choose not to reply but since were not measuring dicks, im just curious why u couldnt have went back to stock or taken it to a diff dealer or a shop that does warranty work?

Obviously there is murphy’s law so knock on wood for me as the dealer themselve keyed me in on that info. If its different in ur state, then that sucks..

But real question, why not tune back to stock? Was the comp fried?

Lets see some pics of ur ride or any for that matter.

Hi Colby, the pcm was fine! The number 7 cylinder was fried/blown causing irreparable damage to cylinder walls. This occurred on my 2003 Lightning. I now have my lightning modified to correct all the issues that helped cause engine failure. Currently it has a Professional Dyno-Jet tune from an expert located near the Las Vegas Speedway. As we all know education is not cheep. I paid $7K the first time and $8K the second time before I finally learned what the real culprit of my problems were. All I can say is if you are forced induction of any kind: "Put a damn catch can on!" you will save yourself tons of grief and cash! Incidentally my Lightning is very impressive and is now scary to me since I rarely drive it and love my Raptor so much. With 370 at the rear wheels, it still has room for greater gains but I want to be conservative on what I do to it as I want longevity as the lightning is getting more and more rare on our roads.

Here is the guts of the ATAK without replacing the tail pipe section. I may be wrong but I am very doubtfull that there is no difference between stock tail pipe section and ATAK tail pipe section. Additionally, I wonder if the sound would be closer to the GT40 without the resonator installed in any configuration.

Was the dyno tune the main mod to the engine or did u have delete plates, cams etc?

Obviously at some point we all know if were gonna mod our rigs then there could be a warranty issue.

If the dealer there added mods would they still void it? By that I mean simple stuff like exhaust or intake etc, not dyno tunes.

The primary problem was discovered after the second engine replacement, which was the inner-cooler located directly under the supercharger had been clogged up enough to prevent cooling of the compressed air from the supercharger. This high heat condition resulted in the destruction of the engine. The dyno was secondary to exhaust and increased cooling. The second Dyno found the water pump for the inner-cooler was not functioning, which I replaced. After second engine I put in all the other mods and got it dyno'd again. Since then it is the most amazing running vehicle I have ever owned in regards to performance and horse power. It starts up with a slightest touch of the ignition, it really likes to go! Between the throttle body and the 2.76 smaller then stock upper pulley, the boost is an instant 11-12 psi.

As far as the dealer adding the mods and coverage, I do not know. I have had them replace all the bushings with poly pro with no problem. They also told me they would install aftermarket tranny upgrades as well. However, I am well beyond any warranty. So, can't really answer that question. I just won't be doing much to my Raptor just yet... Maybe in the future after all the new products are ironed out and popularity of the most viable upgrades emerge. This time around I intend to learn from other peoples mistakes and use my experience to make sound judgements... Some things are just meant to be left alone.

Ya Colby, I am no car guy! I hate sitting so low to the ground and love sitting up in traffic so I can see what's going on before the guy in front of me. However, if I were to buy a car it would without a doubt be a GT500 or better yet the Shelby 1000 wide body, which is so BAD ASS!

Agree about sitting low.. but talk about railing corners. Its amazing how it sticks.

Funny thing is that the mustang and raptor both attract a wide variety of people giving thumbs up or simply mentioning how sweet it is..
