Tundra vs. Raptor - Newbie Check In

Hi to everyone in Raptorville from Georgia. My name is Jamie and I've been driving Toyotas in the woods for the past 12 years. I have almost 200k miles on my current 2004 tundra and I'm researching options for my next victim of offroad abuse. We still have many dirt roads here in Georgia, and being a forester I spend much of my time driving offroad and typically in a hurry. I have had good luck with the toyotas being reliable, although I am rough on suspension components and brakes. I really like the new fords and the Raptor looks amazing! My only concern with the raptor would be the width because I drive down many firebreaks and 4 wheeler trails. I would like some feedback on the overall reliability of the Ford product compared to Toyota and thoughts on going with the Raptor or an F150 with an upgraded suspension.

Many thanks!
They say the first step in correcting a problem is to identify it...I think you have taken the first step! Ha! Welcome to the ForumZ and as far as the width issue, it's only about 7 additional inches. I don't see how that would be a problem on fire break roads. It might get a little scratched up but I think all of the trucks do in that situation. The Raptor is a very capable vehicle when you get it in the dirt....moding an F150 would be an option but you still wouldn't have the same capabilities.
