I am a Navy Lieutenant (putting on Lieutenant Commander on Dec 1st!), currently a Nurse Corps officer. As a nurse I have served 2 tours in Iraq and one at the prison in GITMO. My specialty is critical care and truama.

In my prior enlisted life, I did seven deployments aboard Ohio class submarines (USS Florida and Alaska) as a nuclear Missile Technician.

I don't know how I stack up with all the other services but...

I am a Information Technician First Class in the US Coast Guard
I have been in for 14 years and an IT for 10 of those years.
My first 4 years I was an Engineering grunt at a small boat station in Cali and went through the 9-11 homeland security crises patrolling potential targets in the Bay Area.
After becoming an IT I specialized in Network Telecommunication design where I helped respond to 4 different hurricanes setting up Networks, Computers, and Telecommunication devices for Incident Command Posts all over the Gulf Coast. Part of that was helping EVAC people stranded in damaged areas.

Now I spend my time desk working doing network programing in Washington State. Must say the field was way more exciting.

Thank you for your service as well, fellow vet.

On the B-52, I thought I really pissed someone of when I got my assignment out of basic training. I remember thinking, B-52s? Weren't those things in Viet Nam? I was garunteed a job in aircraft maintenance upon enlistment, but I was thinking along the lines of F-15s,16s or one of the new stealth birds. I had now idea B-52s were still in service. But man am I glad I did. Its a tough plane to work--these C-17 guys don't know how easy they have it--but I would trade it for anything.
