Question, with only 1800 miles on our Raptor We have noticed the leather seats are showing wrinkles on the bottom section, from but wear. I know what your thinking, but I only weigh 160 lbs. Any ideas how to prevent this, short of not setting in the truck, I've had leather seats in the past and they always develop this condition

DB, I think you've answered your own question. All the leather seats I've had did the wrinkles over time. I think since it's cow skin, it's like our skin and it wrinkles with age and wear. It's a bummer but it's just the way it goes.

I've got 13k miles on mine, and the seats are looking rough. I use my truck in the boonies quite a bit though and don't baby it, and that carries over into the cab.

If they offered something other than leather, I'd have gotten it.

I wounder what it would cost to recover them? I have a Chevy with 60,000 miles and it's seats look perfect.

Just had my passenger seat back cover replaced, the Raptor logo began to fade away so I contacted my dealership and they replaced it under warranty. It took nearly 5 months to get it all done they had to bring in a Ford Rep to look at it and make sure it fell under warranty. I told them no one sits in that seat and for it to fade like that after a few months was ridiculous. So now I have a new seat cover and it looks great!

that does look a little unusual. My seats in my 2004 Silverado SS AWD wore like that but after these years do not look quite that bad. I got my wife a Range Rover HSE LUX for christmas and the leather in that thing is noticeably with every human sense better than the leather used in Ford or GMC cars. That does look like some type of conditioning agent or cleaner was applied and exposed to excessive heat.

Keeping them CLEAN and conditioned is about all you can do.

The Ford leather is typically coated and thin. Which sucks on both counts.

Leatherique Rej. Oil and Pristine Clean is my favorite and best I've found for doing the job.

+1 for Katzkin if you want to go aftermarket they can make whatever you want out of a better quality material.

My 2006 Lariate SCrew has 105,000 miles with a tan leather interior. My dog is in my truck everyday. No seat protection, never treated the leather... still looks great. Sounds like Ford went with some cheap leather for the Raptor.

i've pointed this out in many threads. clearly the leather is very cheap in the Raptor. saw few Raptors seat wrinkled even when new with delivery mile. like previously said, if i had the option i would prefer cloth than cheap half-a$$ leather.

don't know why US automakers can't learn from European automakers. even the entry-level European car has those fake leather that doesn't wrinkle at all. more importantly they look nice compare to cheap thin leather & much durable too. i think the new Dodge Ram truck has the one i'm talking about or very close to it. it looks nice & doesn't show much wear at all.
