I think the biggest problem is the lack of transparency. If there is an issue holding it up then tell us. We have done our part with a down payment and contract of sale. We got our ETA and expect it to arrive but weeks or in some cases months go by with no explanation. Transparency would avoid all rumors and dissatisfaction.
I agree.... Ford needs a better tracking/update system for their custom orders. The one they have now is... well, non-existent.

I got a call from a Ford customer service rep this morning saying that my truck had been 're-released' for transportation, but could not get an ETA. I hope that it's shipped promptly.

I'd like to think that my recent campaign of jihad against Ford worked, but I doubt it. At least it gave me something to channel my frustrations towards.

Next I call Gadafhi and tell him that he can remove my truck from his list of demands. :D

I'm glad that some people are getting them shipped. I'm looking forward to laughing about this later.

Man that is good news! Your truck was built 2 days before mine, so maybe things are starting to move. You have been cracking me up with this thread, your rage level is right there with mine. I seriously had to stop calling them b/c I was feeling that it was getting detrimental to my health. I set a goal to not call back until Thursday and I'm going to stick to it. If there is no change by then I'm liable to blow a gasket.....

Do you guys not think that Ford is TRYING to get as many units out to their owners as possible? Moving units = making money... I'm sure Ford knows this.

The train shipping has a lot to do with the holdups, and that is completely out of Fords control.
Makes sense. Unless Ford doesn't want to take the revenue on their FY 11 books...

I agree - I waited 7 mos. for a stang GT in 06, but Ford was very open about the delay being a shortage of the wheels I wanted. I've always been and probably always will be a Ford guy, but their unwillingness to come clean about what the delay is really has me thinking. Sadly I'm in the auto industry and I don't think I could bring myself to purchase anything from just about any other brand, due to things I've seen over the years...

The trains might be part of the problem, but there is clearly something else going on as well.

If it was just trains then every truck that has sat for months would read "Awaiting Shipment" the entire time. In my case (and many others from what I gather here), the status has changed to "Recalled to Factory/Quality Hold". One guy here, if I'm remembering right, said that his truck was at a California rail yard and was then returned to Michigan.

You see my point? These holds have been going on frequently for quite some time. If there have been quality issues then tell people. I would still be antsy to get my truck but FAR more understanding if I understood what the problem is.

It's not transportation. People are now having their trucks picked up two days after built and are being delivered. Older trucks are still on ramp 59 'awaiting shippment' or realistically waiting to fix a problem that the new trucks don't have. QUIT HIDING THE TRUTH!

I'm still far from clear on when I'm going to get my truck, but I have an update that sheds some light on what is going on.

I just received a call from a 'local representative' for the Phoenix-area Ford Manager. He told me that my truck is included in a batch that is being held to correct the infamous "clunk". He said that they know what the problem is, but that as far as he is aware there is not an approved fix that they are going to apply to the trucks. What he did know is that none of the affected trucks have been shipped.

I told him that I had received a call from a Ford Customer Service Rep on Monday saying that my truck had been re-released for shipment from the factory. He said that he couldn't tell me anything about that, but that his latest information from today was correct. He said that there was no ETA available for shipment.

So a bit of conflicting info, but at the least it clears up the issue.

Have you gotton any feedback on your truck lately? No movement on mine.

I talked with my dealer a little while ago. They are telling me that the lack of rail cars is the problem. I don't buy it, there have been too many that were shipped in less than a week after build date (recently). They also told me that the backlog should clear in 20 to 30 days from this past Monday. Meaning it could take up to 25 more days for our trucks to ship. That did not make me happy. Could be complete horseshit though, who knows.....

Not much to do at this point other than sit and wait, or go and buy an FX4 off the lot.

To date I've received no update. I received my usual weekly FCC call, with "There has been no change on the status of your truck".

I had fairly high hopes when I received a message back from the Ford VP of U.S. Sales, requesting my email and contact information, but I haven't heard anything back from him so I'm not sure what to think.

This whole process started off exciting and is now just sad.

I did hear there is a lack of rail cars. My brother has a challenger built and just sitting. Also in my local paper there was an artical about less rail cars to deliver cars...

The jihad continues........

I discovered a webpage for a organization of some sort for engineers who work at the Dearborn plant. On it were the email addresses of their officers (president, VP, Sergeant-at-Arms, etc). I wondered what exactly their Sergeant-at-Arms did, but I'm sure she's armed with a flak canon made out of spare truck parts so I'm not poking fun to her face. :D

I have a stock email with my truck ordering details, along with referencing this website handy so a bunch of copy & paste later our plight has been spread to them.

If this is true then they need to place all of the trucks in priority of order date and ship them.

Yeh no shit - that was the exact same thing I was thinking too. Don't know why they would do that though, that might make too much sense. I think we all know that Ford Logistics doesn't make any sense.

Also, good one on emailing the entire engineering society. They probably think you are a nut job - hahahah. If it helps at all please let us know.

Haha- yep. As long as I get my truck soon I won't mind them passing a motion to declare me 'nut job of the year". I actually didn't email the entire society- just the officers.
