Ford rep called back (after me calling her about 5 times, leaving messages).

They're having me take to ANOTHER dealer tomorrow morning, providing a loaner vehicle (again) and having a Ford Engineer come out and look at my truck. The service manager thinks he can fix the truck without needing to straighten the frame... so obviously he has NO idea what the problem is, even though I sent them all the pictures with FULL descriptions of the issue. Ughhh....

As the world turns.

Maybe he's going to strap a come-a-long from the steering wheel through the back window and onto the tailgate and keep cranking until the bed lines up!! Should work, oh god, help us all, lol

Your kidding! The service Manager said he could fix it without straightening the frame? What, was that a joke on his part? Where did they get that guy from, 7-11 or Wal-mart? Yeah guess they were going to make a flatbed out of your truck. Glad someone suggested to try a different dealer.

I have never heard such a line of BS. I need to stop thats got me P-Oed.

I'm going to have a LENGTHY discussion with the service manager today when I drop my car off. Show him exactly the problem, where it's starting, what's causing it, etc, etc.

At this point, I'm not sure if I'd want to have it repaired, or a new frame on the truck... From what I've been reading a frame swap isn't a huge deal, with the main components coming appart in 2-3 large pieces. I'd love a new frame all together, assuming it doesn't show up on the Trucks CarFax as a frame replacement!

I would suggest straightening the frame. The reason I say this, there is so much involved with a swap. It's not as easy or as straight forward as you would think. Also there is too much room for damage to the painted panels and problems with thier alighnment, electrical issues and so on. Most dealers have problems just doing oil changes properly, would you want them to complately rebuild your truck? Also you have a good point about the Carfax report. You know I had a thought, most Insurance companies total a vehicle with a bent frame. There is a chance you might get your insurance company to total it and then get you a new truck. Just a thought, although it may be way off base.

Not for all bent frames... when you get rear-ended, the same exact spot on the frame will bend, and they fix that no problem assuming that the damage isn't more than the truck is worth. When frames are "twisted" that is when it gets very hard to repair.

A frame swap is a nightmare, and most techs have never done one to a regular truck let alone a Raptor.
Just out of curiosity, how many frame swaps have either of you guys personally done as a professional in the automotive industry? I'm trying to figure out what you base your information off of...

I guess I haven't done enough frame jobs before they become as difficult as they sound:confused: Nothing is straight forward on a vehicles anymore. Performing a frame R&R is nothing more than compounding what a tech does on a daily basis.
All I can say is "Good Luck" selling that thought to a tech. Also in your opinon how long do you think swaping the frame on a Raptor would take?

I'm guessing a frame swap would take too long, OMG, has to be over 40hrs and I wouldn't want that on my truck ever. There would be more overtorqued/undertorqued screws, nuts and bolts than you could shake a stick at. Trust me, I know, was in the autobody business years ago for 20 years and I never did a frame swap on anything as complicated as a F150. My opinion is they can fix the frame very easily.

Bed Alignment issue, likely bent rear frame

At dealer now... They're confident their in-house body shop can take care of it. They're taking care of it like a warranty claim at this point, getting another loaner for free too!

Service manager said they have really good techs here, and theyll get it done. He saw the truck and seems to agree with the diagnosis of the bent frame.
