I would NEVER own an import!
Like Raptor62 said, I'll keep the money in the good ole USA!
I love the way the import companies say HEy it's built in the USA but leave out thast the money goes overseas!
Ya part of the money goes over seas but what about all the American employees, you know...the ones in the American factories that are producing these "import" trucks? The Tundra is more American than the f-150

american made

Do you mean you prefer the actual steel that goes in the vehicle be from USA/Canada? Because the Tundra is made in the US. Its actually more American than most vehicles on the road...any make, any model. What's not funny at all is the timing of when people point to the quality of the Toyota Tundra going down is right when it shifted to a full American built vehicle.

That being said, I admire Ford for what they did and didn't do during the crisis and they should have been allowed to gain market share when the recession hit. I switched from my Chevy to a Ford Raptor on purpose. They were cheated out of an opportunity created by GM unions forcing GM to duplicate crappy cars with different badges for no other reason than to keep some plants open. The company that was the worst about it, Chrysler, should have also been left to die. In addition to Ford, there are 2 small upstart America auto companies that should have had the oppurtunity to pounce on GM/Chrysler market share.
the tundra has 80% domestic content will all profits going overseas
the F150 has 95% domestic content(highest of any auto) with all profits staying in america.

you are a moron
the tundra contains 80% domestic parts while the F150 is 95%. dont know where you went to school but...
Quit after day care, took up slangin rock at age 4, somehow made it through..........its a forum... simma down na...

I dont think any of us will ever see a production automobile made a 100% in the USA....aint gonna happen....china is in trouble right now not many people know yet

The Tundra is more American than the f-150
Thems fightin words. I think your on the wrong sight and in the wrong country Pinko. Sounds like you were one of the Obama voters too. Uhhhhhgggg.:box:

And are you paying attention to China more than us? We are in trouble just as much as anyone else is. You take care of your own first. Blood is thicker than water.

Love my american auto's... And Ford is doing brilliant things in the industry right now. Nobody denies this.. (Even on the import forums people are raving about fords new engine line, trucks, raptors, mustangs, economy cars) & of couse the bailout topics. And even the Tundra/Tacoma guys are showing a lot of respect for the Raptors and Fords new goodies.

I wonder if people are aware of how significant International trade is to America. It wouldn't be what it is without it.

And North America wouldnt exist without immigrants/foreigners. The nation was founded by foreigners and foreign money. What do you think your heritage is? Is everyone here Native American?

People from all over the world pay a lot more money to enjoy American autos... kind of a shame to see people being bashed for not being American. Even us Canadians up north pay a lotttt more.

I think that is one of the biggest downers I've encountered on almost any "american automotive enthusiast" forum... is that theres a lot of anti-(anything not american) vibes that get thrown around. Why should being pro-american autos mean being anti-anything else?

I think a true automotive enthusiast... should be able to appreciate a good machine regardless of what flag is stamped on every individual part used to build it.

Would you deny your children life-saving surgeries/medications if the doctor was Japanese and used Japanese technology to save your childs life? Come on. We live in a new/diverse world. Some of the best shit to buy was made or invented elsewhere. Or by an American who's of immigrant heritage.

I definately understand taking care of your own, and helping to support the local jobs and families.. Especially during rough economic times! Recession etc.... Believe me, we're feeling it up here too.. BOTH my parents got laid off along with many other family members. But I think some people take it too far without having a truthful perspective on the bigger picture. And I think people shopping for a new expensive truck have pretty much no room to complain about recession.

Also.. I'm pretty certain that Japanese vehicles have very little to do with a recession in America.

Bringing up "the war" I hope you aren't meaning that too literally cuz it's a pretty sad point in history regardless of who did what.. The outcome was tragic period. (As is the case with most wars).

I think it's unfortunate though, when we can't talk about a truck or two without bringing up skin color, flags, wars and politics...

Sorry if this pushed anyones buttons. I just think we can Appreciate Raptors without bashing people/products based on where they come from. And threads like this tend to get outta hand pretty quick. And are in poor taste imho.

Also think its stupid to want people off of the forum just because they like import vehicles in addition to the Raptor. Fully expect some hostility to be directed @ me for this post. But I hate watching this senseless bickering when everyones here to enjoy the same damn truck to begin with.

No need to bash a guy who likes his toyota to make ford look better. Fords lookin pretty fantastic all on it's own.

Now if you'll excuse me. I'm going to go hug a tree.

Mayhem, in my opinion your thinking is right on. There is definately a need for exporting and importing. Certainly we are reliant on other countries products likewise others are dependant on ours. Although I believe our stupid government has made it easier for foreign companies to thrive over our own companies but thats a differnt thread HA. The statement I cant be OK with is when some one says the tundra is more american than the f150, especially when they are logged onto a Ford f150 Raptor site. Its not excercising good taste and is talk straight out of someones azz.

P.S. as much as you try its a waste of time, those trees wont hug you back. Let them go. LOL.
