Green Ford in NC is the same way. They tore my superduty up and never wanted or cared to make it right. The owner was too busy counting his money to handle my ordeal.

..then find another dealer for service!
Food for thought..
After this debacle that dealership will be on there toes to take care of all there customers now...
I'm sure there are now new checks and balances in place...
Might be the best dealer around...
I would ask them what they have done to prevent this from happening in the future...

I asked the service manager to be honest and said, did you let a junior mechanic work on my truck, and did he get fired? He said no,my senior mechanic did it and he still has his job but is paying dearly. I wonder what paying dearly intails?

I think getting an extended warranty is a good deal as long as its all inclusive :), as far as the junior mech or senior mech, idk, do you think he's telling the truth? These guys lie for a living

I'm not sure about the details of the 100,000 mile warranty.I do remember them saying it has a co-pay. I only put 7,000 miles on my truck in a year so I'm sure the years will kick in before the mileage anyway. When I pick up my truck tomorow we will go over the details. I want to thank everybody who gave me advise and support with this issue :)

I think you got a great deal. That rear end is tough and could have taken a much harder impact and shrugged it off. Remember the CJ's and their two piece AMC 20 rear axle shafts? Well, before I could buy the one piece alloy conversion set, my driver's axle hub broke free of the shaft and I have left in the middle of a dangerous country intersection. When it broke, I spun out like a top. Considering the safety involved in the issue, I just gassed it and drug the Jeep to the side of the road on the brake backing plate leaving a long gash in the highway. Trailered it home, installed the new upgraded shafts, bolted the tire back on, and drove it to school. No less for the experience. Of course, the dealership was very much in the wrong and I would have gotten a lawyer immediately for punitive damages (these things never make it to court). My point is, that the Raptor (and F150) is really, really tough and can withstand much more abuse than this accident could dish out. I also doubt the Carfax issue. Have you checked to see if it's on your report? I doubt it is.

Really sorry to hear about that but glad they're making it right and you're happy with the outcome. As an ex-technician, I know it can sometimes be a balancing act between taking the time do things right and beating the clock. If a guy takes the extra time to do something, the service manager and/or the customer is breathing down his neck but if he rushes and misses a step, this is the result. You can't win.

That's why I choose to do my own maintenance unless it's a warranty repair. I figure my truck's like my wife and I don't want anybody else's hands under the hood but mine! :naughty:

All is said and done. It's the 100,000 mile Ford premium care extended service plan, esp and transferable if i sell it. I think they steped up properly and did the right thing!
Great news.........:smiley_thumbs_up:
Now go get your truck dirty...

Agreed, make sure it is transferable and also see how long you can get. at 7500 miles per year... get at least 10 years. Don't forget the whole Car Fax Diminished value should you ever decide to sell it. A $1600 extended warranty is peanuts compared to perceived diminished value. Depending upon when in the life of the truck would be sold it could be as much as $10,000
