I'm waiting to purchase my raptor due to this. I don't want another gas guzzler coming from this ...

I'LL BE BUYING ANOTHER ONE AS SOON AS FORD releases the ecoboost. That's a guarantee sale rite here

I don't think a Raptor is right for you (looking for economy and all), look at the fusion hybrid or maybe the Festiva!

hopefully you will never own one then.... you dont want a gas guzzler.... although it has been stated a eco boost would be as bad or worse and have less power..... buy a prius you will be much happier with your mpg

This has been discussed on several threads. The ecoboost has no place with the Raptor. The only purpose of the truck is to go big and strong and be a showman for the Ford name. To put a v6 in our trucks will give 1-2 extra mpg while you lose power and response where it counts. Plus it is not a truck for penny pitchers. If you want economy get a prius, if you want a smaller engine in your truck then go buy a dress ' cause you might be a 'Nancy'
SHAZAM!!! Best answer!

Just sayin', but I believe most if not all cars in the world rally championship are turbocharged, and they do just fine, I'm sure if Ford put the turbo tech they put in the wrc fiesta and focus into the turbos for an ecoboost raptor they'd have no problems at all

I couldn't wait! My non-ecoboost is on her way as of almost 2 weeks! Company gas card suites me either way and it's a write off.....thought it was only a matter of time before Eco, I'm impatient and no other truck is an option! Lol

a v6 eco boost in a raptor would be like the 6 cylinder camaros.... the car weighs the same, you just make a smaller engine work harder to do the same job. and because its working harder you dont get the fuel savings or power u already have with the 6.2 . and if you reread this thread someone stated the ecoboost went into limpmode in the desert because it couldnt handle the heat.

and yes i agree ecoboosting the 6.2 would be sweet, but would cost more then the fuel it would save. my .02

I like the 6.2 better. Negative on the ecoboost.

The rest of the ecoboost line-up isn't for pure fuel economy, the standard v-6 gets better fuel economy than the ecoboosts, it's for comparatively better fuel economy against "similar output" engines, I was saying "ecoboost" the 6.2 for the power

The ecoboost is a good engine for sure, but they have maxed the output on that engine. The a baja-competitive truck like the Raptor, you need a strong big block like the 6.2. Lots of room for hp improvements then, like Roush's new supercharger

once again i agree with the fact that the eco boost v6 has no place in the raptor. need big v8 power...
