I found this last night about the idling. But I think the '11's also have it.

Does anyone have a ford link to explaining all the electronics? I did find some on like the ford media site for the sync and nav, but it was more specific to the focus.
Thanks for the video. It answers the idle difference between my '11 and '12.
The setting for quiet remote start was on the on position for my '11 and not on the '12.

Also , I stand corrected on the valve covers. The mechanic had told me on delivery day that the valve covers were now composite (plastic). Reading another thread brought about this http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=12116
It seems that they are color matched to your truck. Mine is black and they do look like plastic and even sound like plastic when you tap on them.

Can't wait to get mine. I ordered mine on 1-7-2012. I already know I have to wait 2-3 months:wow:. I drive a 2012 SEL Focus to work since I commute a 100 miles a day. This will be my fun vehicle to pull the 22 ft. Regal boat with and go camping. The wife already has 2011 Limited AWD Edge in Tuxedo Blk. The new Raptor is also going to be Tuxedo Blk.
It says the new valve covers are made out of magnesium not plastic.

Mr Clean, I had just realized that and posted a link about that correction, Thanks. You are gonna love your new raptor, especially driving the Focus all week. But you'll miss that MPG when you go to the gas pump. It's all good. Where do you have to drive to work , 100 miles is a lot of driving per day. I'm in Puyallup with a short commute to work. I feel lucky for that.

That's weird. I have a 2012 in Race Red and my valve covers are plain magnesium...no color. Is this a recent change? I took delivery in November.

Hello, congrats on the 2012. Yes the a/c cooled seats is a big factor for me, and i'm glad my try of getting a 2011 did not go through... i am currently waiting 2 weeks for a silver crew cab to be delivered , then she will be all mine. it's great reading these stories because im like a kid on christmas...... have fun and continue looking forward to reading updates on this forum !!!!

I noticed that the guages don't zero out like the ones in my 2010 Platinum. I wonder if Ford used a different quality of gauge package in the Raptors.:4-dontknow:

I live in Lakewood and have to drive to Tukwilla now, which is 66.6 miles round trip. I was driving all the way up to 130th and Aurora in Seattle, which is past North Gate Mall. That was 100 mile round trip. Hope I can stay at the Tukwilla Base, I work for King County.
