The Titan is probably more American then the Ford... haha!!!

I have a 4x4 Titan with long travel suspension and love it. I do like the Raptors better, but everybody and their brother will have one soon. Do something different and build a long travel diesel...
everyone and their brothers will have them?!?!? i highly doubt that. i've only seen like 4 since the 2010's were released. they're too expensive to be all over the place.

Did someone really say that the 6.2 gets the same mileage as a 5.4??? LMAO!

don't you find it funny that that guys original comment came just after he said he owned a Titan? Yeah he doesn't want to own a raptor because "everybody" will own one of those limited edition AMERICAN trucks, yet he still bought a mass produced generic foreign truck :kap:

You do know that Titan's are 60% AMERICAN made right. Ford is in the 30% area, at least they were in 07. Now I'm a die hard Ford/American and when my last Supercrew took a 10K hit in 2 years I had to try the Nissan out as I was tired of losing my ass on all my Ford's, after 4 years I can dump my Titan for a 8-10K lose in this shitty market. Not to bad IMO.

Now my ? for you and anyone else that can answer this for me, what % is the Raptor? I keep hearing that its American made, yet I've never seen a %.

As far as everyone owning a Raptor, we drove around HB-Long Beach(15 miles) all day today and saw 6 Raptor's not including my brother's Father in law's and maybe 50 Titan's.

seems japan outsources the labor the same as ford. ford outsources somewhere and japan outsources to us. hardly call that being american made, but i guess it depends how you define the term.

The way I look at it is that 60% of the truck was built here by american's.
Now I realize the profit's go back to Japan, but at least they are giving american's a job in the mean time

true. that's probably the literal way to look at it i guess. when i think american, in this case, i'm thinking more along the lines of the design and engineering and all that. not necessarily where it was physically built and assembled.

but i also don't really mind buying something "not american" if i like it, so it makes no difference to me. i am a ford fan, and it being american is nice. i do like the titans too. but the raptors are and will be more rare and i definitely like that.

Rationalize all you'd like, it still boils down to a Jap truck, and an AMERICAN truck

If you are a little observant while driving around look around at the Japanese people and see what they are driving... Japanese people drive Japanese cars and trucks cause they are loyal and want their money to go to their homeland to help..Ok they are a few that drive American cars but a very few...They are Japanese-Americans they are not American-Japanese... Its really a shame that people feel that just cause they are providing American jobs they feel its ok to spend their money on foreign cars... The people that are going to pay for it are the younger generations... You can see what is happening around this country now...

As nice as these Japanese trucks may be(i'll NEVER know) and as many as they sell(i'll NEVER buy), I cant ever believe people would buy them over American trucks. We invented the pick up. Its as American as apple pie. We make the best trucks. period.

According to the Nissan USA web site, the Titan...
- Has a 5.6L 32-valve V8 that produces only 317 HP and 385 ft-lbs of torque (compared to the Raptor's 411 HP and 434 ft-lbs)
- Has a 5-speed tranny (compared to the Raptor's 6-speed)
- The Pro-4X model weighs 5,300 lbs (less than the Raptor's 6,006 pound curb weight, however the Raptor's HP-to-weight ratio is higher)
- Has a wheelbase of 139.9 inches - 6.5 inches longer than the Raptor's. Nissan doesn't advertise the Titan's turning circle, but the Raptor's is 44.6 feet for the SuperCab.
- Isn't available with a back-up camera, but does have six (6) cup holders.

There are positive and definite reasons why every professional review states that the Raptor is in a class by itself. The Nissan Titan helps prove that.

I lived in Japan for a few years. The Titan was created for the American market. Modern Japanese trucks and SUVs are known for reliability and dependability... but not necessarily off-road prowess. 4wd truck components are not what the Japanese do best.

I'd wait for the 2017 (if I was rich, I'd get a 2017 and drop the VooDoo5.2L V8 in it).
According to Ford, it will outperform the current Raptor in every way (I still love mine).
Not sure how cool they can make a V6 sound, but if you're not hung up on V8s (like me),
I'd get a 2017.
