Tsb

I should have a fix on Thursday. (I hope)
What should up on my navigation screen was,
Navigation Fault.
A system fault has been detected that may cause the navigation to perform abnormally.
Please contact your dealership.
Without any facts I don't think it was related to the reprograming.
I was told by the service writer that since it's a SVT and considered One of Ford's high end vehicles that it will be looked by there engineers.
The codes they found had no protocols. Just for the record I have the Lockpic installed.

I had my 5.4 done 6 months ago, drove it 3 months before trading it in on my 6.2 and never had any issues but better shifting.

I`m just glad that people are finally getting it done, depending on your truck the differences can be slight or dramatic, on my 5.4 it was the latter.

Like any web site even the good ones like the one here you have to wade thru the BS. When someone tells you that the transmission is fine just put it in the TH mode, i mean really what kind of mumble jumble is that, if it was fine why put it in the TH mode or the ones that told me that there was no reprogram right after i had it done. I`m just glad that the word is out on a bigger scale. It will make a difference on your 5.4.

Does anyone have a link to the actual tsb? My dealer has no clue what im talking about :4-dontknow:

What did the dealership say about the warranty coverage? It doesn't make sense to me why they want to charge you. I'm sure there could be more helpful comments if you post exactly what the dealership is saying and why they say you owe the money instead of it being covered under the warranty.

The dealership in Canada stated since the truck is under the factory warranty it will be covered. TSB repairs are not covered under the extended warranty.
Doesn't make sense.

Any one know if and when the TCM flash will be install as OEM? I take delivery sometime mid September and was curious if I should/need to have this done on the day of delivery.

Well the head guy in the service dept. said there was an $89 estimate because this wasn't a warranty claim and he actually stated if "the truck didn't have a problem and we flash it with the TSB 10-12-4 then you will have to pay because it isn't covered"....yeah wtf ever i'm thinking.....so the tech drove the truck and it had the problem and they flash it etc. and fixed the prob....I go to the dealer and wait forever and goto the cashier and she says "yeah it's ready" so I sign on the dotted line and get my copies of the maintenance order and there is no total or amount due, so she says "your good to go, take this to the valet guy to get your truck." So I did and drove the truck home....After 10 minutes of being home I get a phone call from the head tech chode saying my truck is ready and the final total will be $92.00...I was like "well I already have the truck" and he said "oh ok then" and I was like "C-ya later." Over my dead body will I pay for a TSB that's due on this piece of crap to fix an issue it had from the factory....If I actually had to pay the money for this I would burn this truck to the ground in their parking lot...It's just rediculous the first time I take this truck in I have to deal with this crap....The many of times I went to the BMW dealer for normal maint. or the one prob. I had I always got 5 star service with no probs whatsoever....But I guess thats what you pay for.....

Also this truck isn't even 1 year old from date of manufacture.

This TSB is for vehicles built on or before 2/1/2010 and equipped with 5.4L 3V. Unless your truck was built on or before 2/1/2010, your good....
"If it aint broke, dont fix it"

Is their or is their not that is the question.

Not to beat a dead horse, But There is a number of threads in the Maintenance section on this. A lot of conflickting answers. I copied a quote from FMS06 below. The thread is under 5.4 Trans Update 06-20-10. As for the dealers not knowing anything thats because nothing is listed for the Raptor. All the dealers have access to the Ford web site for all TSBs. So bottem line who is right. Getting this flash done and is this the right fix for the problem?:4-dontknow:

Quoted from FMS06:
I can appreciate this, but I too am a Ford certified Senior Master technician and am not speaking from second hand information. I own a Raptor and specialize in transmisson repair. I can assure you that there are NO updates currently available for the Raptor. I have seen the TSB for the transmission update dealing with the 5.4L and 6R80 in the 2009 MY vehicles but the Raptors were built after the update and the TSB does not apply to 2010 MY trucks. If there is an update availible then it just came out within the last 24 hrs. (which is the last time I visited FoMoCo's OASIS on the PTS website) I am not trying to burst your bubble, just trying to provide you with reliable information. If your Dealer's service department clears the adaptive shift strategy tables, you will experience a notable difference. Just keep in mind that if you drive your truck as you do now, then the trans will in time shift the same as it does now.

If we can get beyond the who`s wrong and who`s right BS, there is a reflash and it makes a difference. SVT told me about it 6 months ago and i posted the results here, but because some did not know about it they claimed that it did not exist. This type of BS just hurts the people looking for a fix that is available. As posted by many here it works and that`s the bottom line.

I could not agree enough with you :kap:But when you go to your dealer and ask them about this they have no clue what your talking about. I for one would like to know. I have had the same thing happen to my Raptor.

Yeah same with my dealer, they did not know about it and either did i at the time, i was lucky that some SVT people happen to be at the dealership and during my conversation with them they mentioned the re-flash and informed service as what to do.

Too bad you have an idiot dealership to work with. You should drop a call to Ford Customer Service and let them know about this dealer. Do not let the dealer reflect upon how great your truck is!

It has nothing to do with BMW (Bavarian Mist Wagen). It has everything to do with the dealer. I have had several BMW's and I will never own another one. You pay too much for too little, period. If you are having trouble with the dealer go to another one and like DB says call Ford Customer Service and tell them about this dealer so you can effect some change.

Thanks

Yeah same with my dealer, they did not know about it and either did i at the time, i was lucky that some SVT people happen to be at the dealership and during my conversation with them they mentioned the re-flash and informed service as what to do.
Thanks RH67, I am going in on monday and asking my dealer to see if they can get a hold of an SVT rep and explain what needs to be done. My Raptor just hit 33,000 miles and only did it a hand full of times. No problems but still a little sluggish off the line.

Fellas, this TSB IS available and was released on the PTS website just three weeks ago. As far as the BS that our beloved all-knowing RH67 speaks of......The TSB was NOT available 6 months ago, so once again he is blowing smoke up your #*@! (but what is new, remember, he knows everyone at Ford and I am sure that they tried this out as a prototype program on his truck.:strokin:) I posted this TSB on "another site" and Harley Guy copied/pasted it to this site for you all to see. If your truck is experiencing this concern then the TSB will address it and I highly recommend you have it done.

Beast, I appreciate your vote of confidence and I assure you that you are correct in that the Dealers are able to access ALL TSB's as they are released. I check our OASIS information system daily for newly released TSB's and SSM's. For the record, I spoke with SVT myself after trying to help a gentleman with his Raptor and was guided by the SVT "engineer" to perform a TSB that envolved a service to the......GET THIS......"two-piece rear driveline" I don't know how many of you have looked under the Raptor, but I have yet to see one with a two-piece rear driveline! Bottom line RH67, is that there is bad information out there from everywhere, YES even SVT. I do not mean to keep this childish bickering up with you, but I can assure you that my interest is in providing these guys on here with the most accurate and up-to-date information that I can. Your claim of having this re-program done to your truck 6-months ago is benine.....I am quite certain that they cleared your transmission adaptive shift tables and let you have it back. It's called "fixing the customer". This program was not available 6 months ago........period.
