I've been interested in equipping my Raptor with HID headlights and have read many forums on this topic. From what I understand, as long as you do it correctly and don't go crazy with the kit, it's NOT ILLEGAL. I'm just curious if anyone has installed a kit, which one have you installed, how much was it and have you had any problems with it...especially with the po-po? I think it would look awesome on this truck but I need to know if it is in fact illegal or not. I don't see why it would be because the new BMW's have them installed right out of the factory. Any suggestions would be greaty appreciated!

HID kits do look great on our trucks. There are a few options to choose from. If you want to keep you high beams your gonna want to get a Bi-xenon kit which cost a little bit extra than normal kits because of the wiring harness to control the motor in the light-bulbs. As for being legal or not you need to check your states regulation codes. I have been running HIDs for past five years in all my cars without one issue with the police. send me a pm for further questions

I'm thinkin the HID kits really aren't worth the money...kind of expensive just to make your lights look blue and more clear.

As long as you running HID in a projector lamp it is 100% legal. Ive been running them in my stock housings for 6 months and have not had a single problem. They do scatter some light and its not legal so if thats your concern then you may not want to put then in the stock headlamps.

Blacklisted seems like a solid company, I havent checked out their prices but for a quality bi-xenon h13 kit you will be paying around $200. Let me tell you man, the difference is HUGE ! Its a lot more then just changing the color /temp. of the bulb. You get a way wider, brighter, farther throwing beam. well worth $200 !

Yes, they do make you see better. I was informed that the 35-watt kit is about 10,000 times brigher than our halogen lights now. The 55-watt kit is about 2 times brighter than that. 35-watt kits are for people who do a lot of city driving as to where the 55-watt kits are for more country and off-road enthusiasts who don't want the big ole KC highlights on the front of their vehicles. I am a big fan of the KC's and have decided to go with the 35-watt bi-xenon H13 kit with 8000k bulbs. From what I'm hearing, they are 100% legal and BRIGHT! Also, check out Blacklisted autoworks on the forum. They quoted me at $131 for the entire kit and have discount running until the end of the month. Hope this helps!:smiley_thumbs_up:

you wont have any cop trouble. Just after the install of your HID kits make sure you have your lights properly aimed to OEM spec. They are legal in mostly all states. I know for a fact the are not in California which where I live and I have been running HIDs on all my cars/trucks for past 5 years with out any cop trouble. I have friends in the force and they tell me for all they know they are fine and no one enforces them because of the benefit to the driver trying to be a safer driver and see more at night. I know most states that they would be fine in just ask. I have product threw out the county I have had one person tell me anything negative from cop issues to this date

Thats what I paid for a 55w system, 35w will be a little cheaper. Ive mentioned in past posts the brand, out of respect for our new Vendors I wont endorse another company in this thread.

I would go through one of the Vendors on the forum, they offer warranties and a forum member discount, plus they gotta be pretty decent guys if the signed up on raptorforumz !

I just ordered mine through OPTI-Xenon and they have excellent customer service! Very quick and reliable and are willing to walk you through the process if you have any questions concerning the kit. We exchanged several emails back and forth and I got the kit that was most suitable for my needs with the help of this vendor. On top of that, they are a GREAT PRICE! I can't wait to get my kit installed! A++ in my book:smileup: One question though, how do we properly aim them to OEM spec?
